This October and November, the Clark hosts a series of silent slapstick comedy films that highlight quick wit, precarious situations, and hilarious mishaps.
The series kicks off with Safety Last! (1923). A century before Free Solo, there was Harold Lloyd in Safety Last! His character, simply known as “The Boy,” asks the age-old question: what will a boy do to impress a girl? In this case, he will climb a twelve-story department store facade without, you guessed it, any safety precautions. (Run time: 1 hour and 15 minutes)
