Flore Laurentienne draws inspiration from the contrasting worlds of Johann Sebastian Bach, King Crimson, and Hans-Joachim Roedelius. From this unexpected encounter at the crossroads of classical, progressive, and experimental music, a dense and generous sound emerges, with unapologetic lyricism and dynamic textures.
Made up of composer and keyboardist Mathieu David Gagnon, two keyboardist-percussionists, and a string quartet, the ensemble built its name over the past five years through live performance. Flore Laurentienne performs with the MiniMoog, its emblematic instrument. Combined with the richness of the strings, the group creates a captivating interplay that draws the listener into a unique and memorable experience.
