Join us for a colloquium featuring Mariët Westermann, Director and CEO of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, and Esther Bell, Hardymon Director of the Clark Art Institute, in conversation. Westermann and Bell were educated for careers in higher education and curatorial practice. Now, they are the first women to lead their art museum organizations in pursuit of their distinctive missions. They will discuss how art museums can contribute to society in the experience economy and amid heightened external challenges, from cultural division and geopolitical conflict to climate change and new economic pressures.
This event is jointly presented by the Clark and the Williams College Oakley Center.
